At RA that year I do believe it was a 2:44 and you ran a couple of seconds back from that. It is testiment at how much better you are your car have gottin over the past few years. I don't remember what I turned at that event in your car w/Jeff in the passenger seat but it was quicker and a hell of a lot of fun. That #11 car was set up more for PIR and Willow because they are both right hand tracks and the car worked real well there. The 1:08's was in a race on the transponder and it was a ball running in a gaggle of race Porsche's.
Lap times are kind of like HP numbers, you can have some sceptitizim (sp?) until you see verifed numbers. At open track events, I no longer worry about lap times. I just want to have fun. If I am running a race, then lap times are everything and will do whatever I can to make them lower.
I don't know if it is because I'm mellowing in my old age or what, I just don't take the risks I used to at an open track.

Gordon and Scott

Will you be coming up to Road America this year??

Morris

Morris, yes I will be going. Gordon, as you recall, road america is almost all right handers. There are only 4 lefts, all slow speed except for that off camber turn under the bridge which your flat out at the turn in before the bridge if you do it right. Scott

Great

I hope to have the car done and will start to sort it out by then....

Might spend some time over at Blackhawk testing everything....

Morris - You have to let me know when you will be at Blackhawk and RA next - we race there pretty frequently!

Gordon - what's up with the arm?

Bob Bacon qualified at a 1:02 earlier this month, holding his breath in nascar 3 and 4. He has a hi-tech cobra converted to a can am style cobra. Lots of aero and tires. He ran consistently in the 1:04 area in the race. Bacon's car is one wicked cobra. It has a 427 big block too. I know I won't get near that time but maybe a 1:09 if I'm lucky. Scott

Scott,
Can you imagine just how much faster Bacon would be with your moder in his car?

coyled 12-30-2004 11:58 AM

Roger, he munched his first 2 or 3 427's. I think it puts out over 600 hp and 600 pounds of torque. So, I doubt it would be but a few 10ths faster, it might last longer though. Scott
