Run and Gun questions

Hi Guys,
I'm thinking about attending R&G this year and I have a few questions.
First, I'm not the worlds most expierenced racer. I have attend the Mid-Ohio school, been to a few Porsche club events and this spring I will be taking the second half of the Bertil Roos racing program.
Is this enough experience to attend R&G?
Do they have instruction?
Is there a group for beginners?

I have done well with HPDE I've done so far, but I don't want to get in over my head.

Any input would be appreciated.

Roger,
Based on everything I have ever read about R&G you seem to have more track experience than most.
Time to clear some space in your den for a new trophy.;)

Good luck,

rbray There are different classes for all. We go by street, perpare, and pro group. Than go by engine size, 4,6, small block, big block and power adder. It's the end of Aug. There should be something coming out in the next KitCar mag in April. If not the is a Run&Gun under events or GressFord Machine. Keep watching there will be something posted soon. You can call Gail at Gateway and get on the mailing list for this.618-482-2400. I will but some info on soon. Rick Lake:D

Thanks for the replies.
I just bought a closeout three layer Sparco suit and a HANS device.
The next project on my plate building better rollbar for my E-M.
I have a friend that is a professional welder and I'm trading him lessons on my English wheel for some welding help.
See you all at the track!

Like Roger said you will have more experience than most and you will have a blast. You should bring home a trophy!

Thanks for the replies.
Is there a website for the event?

I'm still playing with the alignment setup. I had a nasty understeer that I eliminated by added a little to out... the car turns like a champ now. A few more tweeks and then I'm going to have the corner weights done.
Later this summer my fabricator friend and I are going to make a full with rollbar, because my wife won't ride with me until I do.

Try this site:

However, there is not an update for 2005.

If you want to get your feet wet a little sooner why don't you come to the Mid-America Shelby Meet in Tulsa June 9, 10 11, and 12, 2005
