What are events like this? NASA or SCCA events? I'm wondering how a guy in a replica could do some laps on these famous tracks? I don't think I'd qualify for Vintage.

For a fee you can drive your car around Watkins Glen behind a pace car when there is no scheduled races. Check their website for available dates.

Track Days at WGI
 
You can drive many of the tracks at HPDE events. I know that both Sports Car Drivers Assoc. (spda1.com) and PDA / NASA have 2 day events at WGI.
I did one in July last year and had a blast.
