I have in my 65 Mustang road race car, rear wheel hop under hard braking is a result of too much rear brake in the car, wheels are actually trying to lock up, take some rear brake out of it and you should be fine............

Either reduce the rear pad compound or try putting another proportioning valve in. have had alot of expirience trouble shooting this.
Where did you get you Hoosiers?

Tongue Pirate 04-27-2007 11:14 AM

First time I put mine on sounded like I was driving on sand. They pick up everything on the road

DanElam 04-30-2007 05:22 AM

Which compound and type of Hoosier tire are you running?

Tongue Pirate 04-30-2007 07:14 AM

They aren't a street tire. Wasn't a complaint either, just a comparison. Love my Hoosiers. ;)

Dive

im runing the 05 auto x compound gottm new from hoosier as leftovers for 120 a tire,i would have to check the numbers to get exact compound,i think and i could be totally out to lunch on this when the nose dives under hard braking i think its just unloading the rear tires to much  seems like not much rebound built into these stock bilsteins ffr sent me,dan you had complained about dive on your car hadnt you?:eek:oh yea sorry hadnt got back to you guys mom had triple heart bypass so we have been attending her

WildBill3 05-04-2007 01:20 PM

looks like A3505 on the side of the tire not shure if thats the compound # or not with this brand.

silverback 05-04-2007 03:42 PM

You do have the autocross tires, that is what the {a} is for, real sticky and fun but wont last, try the {r} compound, not quite as stickey but sure do last longer.

Locking back brakes

Wild Bill,

You may be right with the shocks having to little rebound, allowing to much weight transfer to quickly, to the front. I dont know that much about this but maybe the front springs need uprating, to limit dive?

I know they build anti-dive into suspension arms as well, and it all gets very involved, I have experienced some mild shuddering in cars that lock the rear brakes due to unloading the suspension, but it may be worth looking at your bushings etc, as this shouldnt be excessive!
