Just a little update:
So far, we have quite a nice little group of cobras joining us at Willow on the 9th. Again, this event is open to all types of cars, and driving levels, and we will try to pit together as a group to make it more fun and add support. There are still spots available so let me know if you are interested. I'm looking forward to seeing those of you who have already signed up and hope to add a few more to our group! I'm new to the forum, and would like to join you guys on saturday. My car is not set up properly for track so I won't be participating. I would like to meet you guys and see what you have done to set your cars up. Just joined this forum a couple of weeks ago although I have had my cobra for 12 or so years.

Can I go just to watch and talk with some of the cobra guys, and where is the track located, and the time it starts, I just got mine done, someday I would like to run it on the track.

We are planning to leave around 7:00 stopping for breakfast in Tehachapi. Would be great to get together and caravan up. I live on the east side by the old Mesa Marin. How about meeting at the chevron station at 178 and Niles. We can be flexible on leave time if that works for you Leo |

I hope you guys had a good day at the track. For a last-minute, thrown together, track day, it came off very well. I’m sorry I was not more available. I was having a meltdown with my car. It was running flawless at the dyno 3 days prior but for some reason ran like a pos at the track. Worked on it till 1am Friday night and threw in the towel Saturday at noon. So car never left the pits. The good news is I drove the last 2 sessions in Karen’s spec racer and identified a problem with my car before Thunderhill in 2 weeks. Also got to visit with friends a little. Only wish I had more time to visit with the other cobra folks that came out. I saw you guys out there looking good. All and all, it was a pretty cool event. Thanks and glad you had a great time. Actually, it worked out ok for me. Car is going to the tuner first thing Friday and we will find the problem before Thill on the 23rd & 24th. Had I not gone to Willow I would have been SOL. Also got to drive Karen's car which got me on the track in the afternoon. That's the good news. Long drive, short trip, but glad to be there. Good group of folks and a must do again. Talk soon, John :) |
