Electric drag car

I'm up here in Anchorage visiting a few customers this week and I was given a ride in one of the engineer's drag Pinto. Holy cow! This things does the quarter mile in 12.5 sec @ 110 mph. It has a pair of electric tow motors in tandem under the hood and a butt load of batteries in the trunk. It's like being in a jetski in acceleration. The motors generate 485 HP and 1,000 ft lbs to the 9" diff. And no sound. You can check it out at www.austinev.org/evalbum/1093.
