I took a ride in one of my Alaska customer's electric car this past summer. His best time was 12.3 or so. He was running two electric tow motors in tandem to produce 1,000 ft. lbs of torque. It has a two speed automatic. We never got over 80 Mph or so, but is was really weird riding in something that powerful that makes no noise. Interesting little group of guys.

The Pinto cost over 30K to build makes mid 12 sec passes and It's dead at about 50 miles, he hauls it to the track with a diesel truck. But it only takes 12 cents to charge it! %/
