mid america at omaha fast fridays

went to one of the fast friday events--open track. anybody looking for track time, this is a good event to attend.

very laid back, do your own tech, track hot at 9, break for lunch, open til 7. depending whether there are open wheel cars or students, closed wheel is run continuously.

lots of runoff, one decreasing radius 180, one increasing radius 180, chicanes, very long straight.

cars attending--nissan gtr, masarati, gt40, lots of vettes, few stangs, lots of porsches, couple ferraris, pantera, couple farmers.

went to mam again today.

there was a guy there that had been dirt track racing since early 70's. him and his boy brought an ex trans am car with corvette body they had purchased off the west coast. very nice. just freshened 310, jericho, rear end cooler, wide 5 wheels, very professional with the whole works.

somebody spent a fortune on this car and this guy picked it up for 30k. ran and sounded real good. saw him on track once as he passed me, i had the hp, just didn't have the nads.
