Infrared Thermometer
 
Can anyone tell me approximately what exhaust header temperatures I might encounter under hard driving conditions?

I'm thinking of buying an infrared thermometer for another project and I wanted to get one with a high enough range to measure header temps on the cobra.

Any advice or recommendations?

I think less than 1700 degrees. Mine at idle is 400 to 500 range. Running hard for a long time??????

Coould I ever expect surface temperatures in excess of 900 degrees on the headers?

Probably not unless you're way lean.
