289 and t5 question

I am getting the drive train together. I just purchased a rebuilt 289 with a six bolt main. Will a t5 transmission from a 94-95 mustang bolt up if I get the year correct bell housing or would the 87 - 93 be easier. I think the 94 has the longer input shaft and the electronic speedo. I am just looking for a combination that will work.

Thanks

I have a 71 302 with a 95 T-5 trans, bell housing, and flywheel. I had the flywheel rebalanced for a 28 oz. that they used in those years. I thought 95 was the year they were longer.

I have a similar setup (1966 289 with a 1990 WC T5). The 94~95 T5's have a different length input shaft on the trans. I know as I have rebuilt many. Save yourself some trouble and get a 87~93 world class T5 with a 86~93 5.0 bellhousing. You can use the 28 oz flywheel on your 6 bolt block and everything will bolt up. Brian

I don't have the flywheel yet, so I can buy one that matches. I can get a better deal on a 94-95 right now but if it is too much work I can wait for an 87-93.
