Side Louvers

Hi folks...

I purchased a set of the side louvers from Finish Line. The look great (as I saw some others talking about them).

What have people done to actually install their louvers? The ones from finish line are larger than the side holes in the A&C. I can expand the hole if I need to, but what about securing them into the body?

Just curious to see what others have done.

Thanks

They should be bigger than the hole. If you glass or epoxy a piece of angle on the inside above and below the hole then they can screw between them. You can use fibreglass or sheet aluminum for the brackets.

I first placed the louvers inside the body and marked a line at the top and bottom of the louvers. Then, I glassed in sheet metal on top and bottom in an "L" shape. Once the glass got hard, I put industrial velcro on top and bottom brackets, then some on the louvers. Stuck the louvers in and pressed to a tight fit in the velcro and they don't move a bit. The Louvers should be slightly bigger than your body holes.

Hi folks, thanks for the replies!
The louvers I have are slightly larger than the holes
and they did come with 4 small 90-degree pieces of metal
I was thinking of glassing/screwing them....but maybe the velcro! thanks...

ill have to get some pics posted at some point.
Hope to have it running again this weekend

Go up to the hardware store and get some good epoxy and glue the angle pieces to the body I have an A & C and used the louvers from finish line and this system works great, and no I didnt have to make the holes any bigger

I pop riveted angle brackets to the louvers. Drilled some holes in the brackets. Then used silicone adhesive to secure them to the inside of the body.
10 years and they are still there even with all that heat that is near by.
