panhard bar

Has anyone used a panhard bar other than the one from A&C? The distance between the mounting point on the rear and the frame is only about 18". Should I just buy one somewhere else and modify it myself?

Mine came with my kit and was to long(Street Beasts go figure) so had it faced off to right size.

You can use any bar you like. A good place to get some cool aluminum or steel ones is an online Sprint Car parts company, like Smiley's out of Texas. I'm sure there are lots of Sprint car parts suppliers across the country.

is the panhard bar really necessary with a triangluar 4 link rear end. i was told that i did not need it.

Not sure what you mean by "triangular", but are your links at a right angle or perpendicular to the axel? If that's the case, then yes, you need a panhard rod. But, if your links are angled as they come off your axel, you can probably do without the bar. Also if your car is on jackstands to the frame, with the panhard bar off, see if you can move the axel side to side. If you can, you def need a panhard bar.

I think I cut the threaded tube to reduce its length by a few inches. The one that A&C provides is a little too long.

panhard

I replaced the one from acc with a longer unit. I took my chassis to advanced chassis here in ohio because I could not get the wheels square. they said it was too short to work properly. So we added about 3 inches to the length. Works great no problems at all.

I have an extra from my build, you would need to get mounting brackets...
Send me a pm, yours for the asking
