wilwood pedals and masters
Are any of you guys using the Wilwood brake and clutch pedal assembles? I have the 12'' kits on the front and rear. I would like to keep everything Wilwood I really like the quality. I don't have thebody yet (hoping to get it in the spring). I like the way the high volume masters look but i don't know if they will fit height wise . I talked to wilwood tech. They said to go with a 3/4'' clutch master,a 7/8'' front and a 1'' rear master cylinder. If I have to I could always use the remote masters. It's been four years and i'm so close to finally getting the body.

your brake masters are dependent on your calipers piston size and volume of the caliper. Also thickness of the rotor. I hope you really do your homework on this and dont rely on Wilwood to figure it out. I have the wilwood pedals and masters. Wilwood was of no help really.
post what you have and we can verify if the 7/8 fronts are correct. I am willing to bet it is off or 3/4 should be front. but post you piston and qty of each caliper |
I have a set of Wilwood pedals and 2- 7/8" bore master cylinders I would like to sell. Never installed- I went a different direction with floor mount pedals. If you're interested, let me know in a PM or email.
Also, depending on what hydraulic clutch set up you use you may need as large as a 1" master for the clutch. I went through this and the 3/4" master that was recommended just wasn't enough. After going through the 7/8" master, I needed to go all the way to the 1" master to make it work. Pretty expensive lesson to learn. Bob |
The fronts are the dynalite 4 piston 1.75'' bore and 12.19'' rotors. The rears are the dynalite 4 piston 1.38'' bore and 12.19'' rotor. Bolth rotors are .81'' wide.The clutch slave is a .88'' diameter with a 1.38'' stroke. Thanks Richie

I just went through my brakes and got it about 80 % dead on. I have a similar setup as you and running 3/4 front with 7/8 rear. My next adjustment will be to change the rear to 3/4 as well. Finally, if additional adjustment is needed I would go with 5/8 front. My current set up is very good but curious t see how the 3/4 rear will work out. I hope this helps. Are you guys finding that you need more pressure from the master or are you not having enough volume in the pedal stroke to yeild a hard pedal? I'm just trying to do as much research as i can. Do you all need to use the remote mount masters because of the room and clearence?
