Single round tube bumper.
I friend Dave who has a stainless shop here in town. He likes to make things. He's been reproducing the hoop bumper for a few years now. He wanted to know if I like to try out something new on my cobra. I think it's 1 1/4" staneless tube. I have the front on and we are going to make one for the back tomorrow. What do you think? It just bolts on to the front of the quick jacks. If your interest in one send me a message.

I think it looks sharp. It has the speedway push bar look.

IMHO, I think it looks lame. It doesn't provide any real protection in the event of a collision. At least the original hoop design reflected the shape of the car, this is just a bar between the overriders. Dick Smith's #198 had strange bumpers that were required because at the time the California Highway Patrol wouldn't allow quickjacks on the street. But then again, Dick's CSX is an iconic car in the world of Cobras. BTW, from an aesthetics point of view I don't like them either. LOL

I agree it looks like a pusher bar. About the same height as a corvette back bumper! **) The back turned out nice. Very simple. I don't think any of these bumpers are meant for crash protection.

Reminds me, football season is near.
All joking aside, not offensive looking. Ralphy |
