Brakes set up....Any ideas? pic/links?
Not going to run 79 power booster or 84 corvette booster/master?
I want to run wilwoods 6 piston 13" rotors up front and explorer rear's or 4 piston wilwoods. Any ideas on what type of master cylinder and or petels with out braking the bank? I was looking at the wilwood petal assm. just not sure how to mount it? I am also running 19" wheels.... Not going to track the car just street use.. I just dont want to snowball into 4000$ for brakes on the car.. thank you in advance.. |
I'm not familiar with your particular make of car, but the Wilwood system you are talking about is fairly pricey, and is really designed for track use. It will probably be in that price range by the time you get everything you need.
If you are not going to track the car, what made you decide on that setup? |

I have Wilwood Dynalites (4 piston) front and rear on my A&C with a Wilwood
7/8 MC.....great brakes, car stops straight and fast! I use the A&C peddle box Jon |
dallas.... I just like the look of the big brakes with the bigger wheels. I don't need them lol.
Saltshaker.....I have been searching the fourm and have came across your name a couple time about brakes. what size rotors are you running 12.19? with 4 piston? Also are you running the wilwood top mout petals with duel 7/8? |

Pretty sure I have a 7/8" for front and 3/4" for rear, both Tilton. Front brakes are 12.1" Wilwood 4 piston. More swept area than the Wilwood 6 piston ones that would fit inside my wheels, so I'm told by ERA

If you use the A&C pedal box you won't be able to use two separate MC's.

I'm also using the wilwood 12.19 rotors with 4 piston front and rear. Part numbers are 140-7017B front and 140-6292 big bearing ford 2.50 offset in the rear. Think I have some pics of them up in my gallery

Yes that is how the A&C rear is set up

Just ordered the front brakes 12.88x1.1 front rotors and sl6 calipers. Got a really good deal so I coudn't pass it up. Also going to run a 7/8 wilwood tandum master and wilwood proportion valve.
