clear coat and stripes

I got phase one last Monday and it's going very quickly. We I get to phase two which
Will be the body I'm planning on a BMW LeMans blue. I'm wondering if anyone has
Painted stripes on the gel coat and then cleared the whole car? When I talked to sonny
He said a lot of people just clear coat the gel coat but I was wanting to hear from some
Of you that may have done this. It will probley but late summer before I'm ready for the
Body. I'm going to go as far as I can with the chassis and install the drivetrain before I
Order the body. Going with an aluminum head 460 with a 5 speed. Thanks to any and all
Comments.

I think they said they wet sanded the body
Put the stripes on then clear coated it
I am still running just the gel coat and after 14 years still looks great

I agree on wetsanding the gel coat so that clearcoat will adhere well and won't delaminate easily.
