Replacing e brake shoes on A & C

Anyone ever replace the '95 Explorer e brake shoes on your A & C?
I have gotten as far as removing all the hardware except the upper spring in the back of the shoes
How the heck do you get it out?
I am about to pull the axles, but I would rather not.
Any help would be appreciated.
Actually, if possible looking for someone locally to do it for me in my garage.
Location Macedonia, Ohio
Willing to pay to have it done.
Eager to get back on the road.
Thanks
Jim

I found a site of Ford Exploerer owners and someone posted a step by step picture album with captions. Thank you!!!!!!
I'm done for the day, will attempt drivers side tomorrow.
