New Basket Case
I just picked up a privately built 2013 British racing green A&C Cobra from the Cleveland area two weeks ago. It only had 940 miles on it and was barely driveable. It’s now in a million pieces in an attempt to correct all the build errors. I’m down to the crank on the engine, brake system, clutch system, and fuel system were removed, the peddle box was modified, and the foot area has been cut out, enlarged and glassed back up. There’s many many more items I’m fixing or improving. I turned the corner last weekend and now everything is going back together. The original body and bare chassis and suspension are gorgeous on this kit. Whoever finished it from there originally should be shot though. 😂. I love this little thing and can’t wait to get it on the road.

Well, you will know the car inside and out. Post pictures when you get the chance. You will probably need to reply to a few more posts before you are allowed to post pictures. Lots of good knowledge on this site. Have fun.

I built my A&C kit from October 2015 - September 2017.
I now have around 3000 miles on the car. Done 2 drives from Dallas to San Marcos (south of Austin) and back in the car with zero issues/problems. Any questions you may have on re-assembly, ask away. |
Good Luck with your re-build .

Take your time, get it right and it will all be worthwhile. More smiles per gallon.

This thing is giving me a run for my money. Electrical systems, dash storage, fuel system, clutch system, and expansion of the foot box and gas pedal setup are done. I just got the engine block back from the machinist and the mess in the rear end and gear swap are almost done. I’ve been burning a lot of midnight oil. After celebrating our country and in between that work thing that I have to do, fingers crossed, she may be ready for the first fire up by next weekend.

Delay of game AGAIN, both axle flanges are bent and need to be faced off and squared. Ughh I’ll drop them off at the local machine shop Monday morning. Tomorrow I’ll start putting the engine back together...

To bad that there are so many issues with your rebuild. I finished my build a few months ago and are enjoying it a lot.

It’s alive! I’ve been test driving it around the neighborhood for the last couple of weeks much to my wife’s chagrin...yes it's insured. I have an appointment this Friday to get the NYS VIN installed and then I’m only waiting on the state to send my new title. I can’t wait! This car is super comfortable and FUN to drive!

Congrats! Still plenty of good driving weather left.

Congratulations! NY put a VIN on my Wildcat (Cheetah inspired build) on August 6. I'm anxiously waiting for my title.
