Rool Bar Question

I've been building an A&C (for a few years) and in the manual it states that the Roll Bar should be 10" above the rear deck. It looks lower that other Cobras, will the 10" height be ok for taking it to tracks for track-day??
Thx
PJ

PJ,

Here's a quote from the SCCA's rules:
Quote:

The top of the roll bar must be above the top of the driver’s helmet when the driver is in normal driving position.
Other track day sponsors probably have similar rules.

Thanks Tom, I did shorten the length to fit the 10" height, but I can weld the pieces back on if needed.
I don't have the seats installed yet and I did get the seat adjustment brackets which will lift the seat a little higher.
Thanks again,
PJ

Some places also do a broomstick test as well. They place the broomstick, or similar straightedge, on top of the roll bar and rest it on top of the windshield and the driver's helmet cannot touch the straightedge. This could lead to needing a slightly higher roll bar. if your helmet is higher than the windshield. You can place a box on top of the body behind the driver's seat, sit in the car with your helmet on and use a straightedge to the windshield to check on how high of a roll bar you will need.
