Rear Discs

Im getting ready to powdercoat the rear axle and was looking at the brake line layout. My question is on the mounting of the flexible line from the caliper to ?????

Is there a mounting plate that needs to be welded to the rear? Does it go to the frame?

Second question is on the axle vent. My kit came with a weak looking plastic vent. Has anyone used something different? Before I start the search I would love a quick suggestion.

Thanks,
Aaron

I used a fitting welded to the axle tube and then a formed hose that curves around the link bar. It works perfecly.

Aaron, I had the same question. I found the flexible line to be very short and difficult to mount anywhere. I ended up welding a small tab on the axle tube. I did use the plastic vent although I did consider upgrading to a vent offered by Summit. I figured that if it vents and is out of sight , it's probably good enough.

Do yourself a favor and get this from Pegausus Auto Racing

They are 12 bucks each. You can drill the chassis and mount them very securely. Then get the stainless braided brake hose. You can buy them in different lengths to fit your application.
