Problems with strut rods

I am having problems getting the strut rods to line up. Drilled it out to 1/2" like the book says but can only get 1 bolt to line up with control arm. Seems to me the bracket that the rod and bushing go through is at the wrong angle. I might have to cut off bracket and change the angle to get everything to line up. Anybody have this problem??? I would be greatful for any help.

Thanx
Greg

Greg,

been awhile since I did mine. have you tried installing one end into the rubbber bushing and on to the frame loose. Just tighten the nut on a little. Then you may need someone to help you line up the holes for the lower control arm. This may take some pushing and pulling to align. Good luck, keep us posted on your success.

Did you get the struts from them? I could be wrong but I think there were 2 different struts on the mII and pinto set ups. I don't mean the mII's were different than the pinto's but there were 2. Mine fit no problem.

Jerry, I tried everything I could think of.....still about 1/2 of a bolt hole off.
Gman, I will look into another set of arms. Thank you both for your help.

Greg, The struts changed in '74, anything newer should fit. Talked to my friend in the parts department today.
