How Accurate is the A & C Body?

Hi everyone,

Been trying to decide who's version to buy and I'm on a budget. I wanted to like Factory Five, but they took too many liberties with the shape. So my question is: Does the A & C body have the look of an original? Thanks

I understand the new FFR's address the perky butt look and are better than ever? Not necessarily recommending one over the other, just curious, IS the new FFR shape an improvement?

As much as I hate to admit this, A&C is a very good representation of the original ;) . I enjoyed mine very much and it looked very close to the origianl shape. If I had not started Turn Ten I would have kept it. It is one of the replicas that takes a little more work, but it is well worth it. Our EVO 4,5 and 6 bodies are the right shape as well ;) :D :D .

A&C is pretty good lookin' but has several variances from originals like turn signal 'pads' and rear fenders that don't flare out quite as much as they should. They do roll the edges which is nice plus the body comes ready for paint.

The MK-III FFRs still have the same problems. Perky and pointy, pads, flat cockpit edges, etc. The only body changes they made were to slightly widen the rear fenders but they, like TT and pretty much all the others are still are not the correct shape like an ERA, Shelby or Kirkham.

I think A&C has a very nice body, but it is a little different than the original as pointed out. Two other areas I notice when I was doing my project is that the curvature of the hood is less than the original, looks flatter from side to side, including the nose and the truck knob is not mounted on the trunk lid, but kist below it. So you turn it and lift the trunk by the license plate light or an edge. Not sure why they did that. . . The hood scoop is different too, since it's part of the hood and not rivited on. . .

But the fiberglass is beautiful work! The glossy gelcoat is almost as shiny as paint and very hard to chip. It does not get road chips like paint does, but if you hit it hard enough it will, but can be fixed. Or you can paint it.

I have a bunch of pictures on my website, click the link below and take a look at the "Cobra Pictures"
