Wiper control ?

Hi Guys,
Did any of you use the wiper system provided from A&C? If so what switch did you use to control the wipers and where can I buy one? I see one listed from Finishline but not sure if it is compatable with the system I have, nor do I have a clue on the wire configuration for what I have. Thanks for any help, Sam

Actually, I've used Rainex for the last 7 years. I do plan on installing wipers one of these days...maybe when I get around to painting the car......

Well. Well. Well Sam. this has to be the biggest coincidence. Today i finished wiring up my wipers. I bought the kit from Finishline. The switch i bought from the nearest automotive store. I used a on/off toggle switch. but i have done something wrong because when i go to test it, they automatically go on when i turn the key switch on. Thinking that i had the switch in the on position, i put the switch in the off position and the wipers continue to keep going. I've put the main power directly to the motor from the fuse box where i should of put it to the switch first it looks like (Guessing). Anyway, hopefully that works. System is noisy. i can hear the gears running slightly from the cable. The motor did have 5 male spades coming off of it. A high, low speed, park, negitive and power. I am trying to use only three. Simple on/ off only.

Wiper issues

Automan,
I was just at Carlisle last weekend for the kitcar show. I thought I could find a correct switch and some deals on other finishing parts I needed, but there were no Cobra parts venders just lots of used stuff. Anyway I placed an order with Finishline yesterday including a wiper switch that will provide two speeds and park the wipers when off. They said they would include a wire diagram for the wiper system. The switch is $32.00 but what can you do, we didnt pick a cheap hobby. Sam

Hey Sam: So thats what park means on the wiring diagram. When Finishline sent me the kit, they forgot the wiring diagram. The emailed me a copy. That switch sounds good though. but i had already bought all of my switches and i wanted them to be the same size and style so i am only going with on and off. Got it working today, but i sure would of liked to have that park option. Oh well, another future improvment item added to the list. Next step- Shifter and emergency handle installation.Wish me luck

S/C's and even Comp cars had wipers, Lucas Switch #54033632 PRS7. The unit will be somewhere between $100-$120 with knob an additional $20 or so.

Best of luck!

"System is noisy. i can hear the gears running slightly from the cable."

Somehow I get the feeling the wiper mechanism won't be the loudest thing on your car.
