Conver 9" to IRS?
I'm looking at purchasing an A&C that is a long time finished car. It has a 9" straight axel under it, which I may decide is OK, however at this point I had pretty much decided I wanted an IRS setup.
I'm sure an IRS could be fabbed up using the 9" that is in the car. Anyone ever put an IRS in an A&C? I suppose some arguments against doing this or for would be appropriate as well. I'm pretty thick skinned, so comments are welcome up to critisizing the size of my nose  |

there are a few versions of ford 9in rears with irs in the street rod side of the sport--however they all are mostly set up for show and not performance-at least nothing that comes close to getting the max performance out of the ford
You might want to look at a rear out of a 90-96 c4 corvette--aluminum dana 44, suspension allready worked out, brake availability and will be fairly easy to mount in the cobra Jerry |
