9" axle bracket order for svo brake
This doesn't look obvious to me. I like to get it right before I get them pressed on. Is this the right order for the brackes and bearing for the axle?
I have to open up a bit the svo brake bracket opening to slide over the bearings (dermel). I talk to Joe at A&C and I think this is what he was explaining to me. ???? small bracket , svo brake bracket, bearing , thick retaining washer.???? !!! http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/brakesvo.JPG |
I got my rear disk set up from A&C and no problems getting the bearings to clear the backing plates. I.E. the only thing I had was the four bolt axle retainer, main bearing and then the bearing retainer.
Thanks, Jim |
You can eliminate the disc brake dust shield entirely and get brackets that either weld to the axle tubes or bolt to the bearing retainers. The dust shields are/were used in OEM applications to keep rain, mud, excess dirt off of the rotors. Not too useful on our cars.

I could be wrong, but I think you are missing a spacer that takes up the thickness of the bracket/plate. It goes on between the retainer and the bearing. Mine was not put on first and I had to split it in two. Made it extremely difficult to assemble. Mike
Your retainer is different than mine, this may be part of your retainer |

I think your right . Just eyeballing the how far the bearing goes in and the thickness of the brake bracket there is a space. I need a thick washer. RDC |
I called the "the9inchfactory" 1 800 332 3450 and they had the right spacer for the svo brake bracket. 10 bucks.
