Sidepipe mount.
Here is my mock up the side pipe mount. Looks good from the top. I have about 1" spacing along the body. Not sure if those rubber isolation mount will hold upside down. I might bend the bracket to go on the top or add spaces to drop the bracket down. Any thoughts? Should I add one more bracket towards the front? Since there is nothing in the manual. I am winging it. :LOL:

The Superformance cars only have a single mount. The weight is not the problem, it is the engine mounts and how much they will let your engine move. Make sure that you have space around the body where the pipes come thru the fiberglass for movement.:3DSMILE:

The mounts are the standard rubber mustang mounts. 1/4" ? more?

Looks good. I didn't even use any rubber mounts on the sidepipe mounting brackets. Used only one mount with nothing holding the front part. Didn't even rivet the pipe to the header because of easy removal. I do though have to take a rubber malet every once in a while to move the passenger side up because it sides down alittle.

The jack stand on the outer frame would scare me. I always use the 2x4 part of the frame.
I like the idea of the rubber mount. I just had my side pipes off and thought it might be a good idea. The slip joint leaked fumes and caused an anoying rattle. I tried coper rtv in the slip joints. Made one side's rattle much better and the other much worse. It did fix the fumes though. I guess this winter I'm going to flange the side pipes and headers. I would recomend that to everyone especially before spending bucks on coatings. |
