Rear springs
I think I am bottoming out my rear springs on dips in the road. I found this post using the search function.

I am sure if you call Joe from A & C he will be able to help you with a different set of springs.
Stop by and see what we are working on @ www.eddytheb.com |
You can get springs at Summit, Jegs, Speedway Motors, Aldan Eagle ... Assume you are looking for coilover springs - Hypercoil, QA1, etc. eBay also works.
http://www.speedwaymotors.com http://www.summitracing.com http://www.jegs.com You should know the inside diameter, 2", 2-1/4" or 2-1/2" and length, 8", 9", 10" ... Try the zip tie on the shock shaft and see how far it moves during the bumps and see if it really bottoms out ... Springs are cheap, but your ride might become harsh. There are other threads on this site with shock/spring calculations ... if you know corner weights, angles, etc. try this site. Good background information. http://www.swayaway.com/TechRoom.php |
Yes a closer look and I can see the wear on the shock strut and I was bottoming out. I put a tie wrap on the strut to get a better measurement. I raised the coil up a 1" and got a little more clearence. This seemed to help on a few dips in the road but it changed my ride height.
Joe at A&C wasn't in so I don't know for sure if its a 250 rate spring. I did find the springs Qa1 on summit. They have 2.5" diameter and 12" legnth springs in 300lb and 350lb. Anybody have a preference on spring rates? Ron |
