Looking for a few tips on how to sell my Cobra

So after a year of having fun playing with it, the new house project is making selling my Cobra off seem like a good idea. (At least, it's a good idea to my wife....)

I could really use some help as I ended up with this car though my dad's estate and wasn't apart of the whole build process.

At the time I picked it up from the estate, it was valued at about 25-30k I think . It's a Midstates with a 351W and less than 600 miles on it since the build was finished. (My dad passed shortly after it was completed.)

It does need an electrical problem figured out, but otherwise it's in great shape. (The battery runs down when I drive it.) It could probably use a tune up though.

I have about 90% of the receipts and notes from the build from my dad's files. (Everything on where he bought the parts, engine, who did the paint, final assembly etc.)

My problem is that with work and building a new house, my time is about zero. I'd rather find someone to handle the sale and manage the process, but I'm not sure who does that kind of work in the valley.

Any suggestions folks might have? If I can get 20k out of it, I'll be happy. So there is some money to be made if someone wants to take the time to sell it.

I'd thought about Barretts, but given the bloodbath I saw when I went two years ago, the downturn in the economy and their costs just make it hard to go through the process.

Much obliged for any help you can provide,

Pete

Carsonline and cobracountry seem to be the two est places to list your cobra for sale these days.

If the battery runs down as you drive it is probably either a bad alternator or bad battery. You should send a note to Jeff Classic on the forum here or PM me and I will give you his number as he is a good fixer and a swell guy.

A working car is hard to sell just now and a non-working one will be close to impossible. I am not familiar with your car , but I can tell you that any Cobra that looks ok and runs well is worth all of your estimate. Get it running this week if you can and take it to either the Good Guys at Westworld on the weekend or take it to the Pavillions with a for sale pamphlet on the seat. You can test the water pretty cheaply.. ;)

Fix the charging problem and drive it around with a for sale sign on it. These things get more darn interest than anything on the road! I'd also suggest CobraCountry.

Whatever you do; do not let them drive it until you have at least most of the money...........I do speak from exp.........

I had great success with cobracountry.........twice:)

Much obliged for the advice. Posting here dug up a couple of contacts that will be able to help me sell it locally, so I'm off to get her fixed up and put up for sale.

Thanks again,

Pete

As far as fixing the electrical issues, If you are not up to the task take it to HotRods by Dean and have Charlie fix it for you.
