Photo Radar Going Away
Arizona DPS is getting rid of photo radar on the Arizona Highways. The announcement was made this morning, the contract with Redflex will not be renewed due to extreme backlash and a study that photo radar actually increases accidents.
Cameras are expected to be turned off about July 15. Hooray!!:D |
How about that!!!!
Is this the speed trap stuff that was on the freeways or is it the red light cameras? Maybe other cities will get the message! |
It is the cameras both fixed and portable (read:little white vans on side of road) according the the news this am.
|
That will make Jim B happy.
Now to get rid of the speed camers utilized by the cities. Mike |
It's about time. Ppl drive like mad and then slow way down at the cameras.
Accident looking for a place to happen. |
Bob Halliday is the new DPS Director. Was a patient of mine for years. Good guy. Only DPS controlled cameras are going away, not city owned such as Scottsdale and Phoenix.
