I need to glue wood to metal. It needs to never come apart.

What type of epoxy should I get?

I wouldnt use epoxy myself. Over time as the wood drys out and shrinks it will come loose. What are trying to bond exactly? You may want to look at using fiberglass resin. Fiberglass resin will actulay penetrate the wood where epoxy wont.

Mikie, go to your favorite gun store and buy a bedding kit.. Accraglas Gel. It will cost about $7.00. Follow the directions and you will have a bond that will never come loose. It's the best stuff I've found.

Structural adhesive.

Any materials with different expansion rates will need an adhesive that does not get hard and brittle.

My Ferrari rear tub was bonded to the steel 280Z body with Bondo Glass. I also used it in the Willys to bond the interior hard wood to the fiberglass for attaching the interior panels and cloth. The Bondo does not run and has enough volume to fill the imperfections in the fit between the two surfaces.

That accraglass should do the trick. The last of the antique guns is finished and it is also a piece of junk. It is a 1890 single shot 12 Ga. The forestock was glued/epoxied before and falls off, this in turn allows the barrel to fall out. This gun will be hanging on a wall for the next 100 years in a museum at Pioneer.

This gun was manufactured in 1890. It was a cheap shougun sold to farmers, for gettin then durn varmits, through their local drygoods and apothicary stores. Cost back then was about $4.00. I was cleaning all the rust off this along with an 1863 Sharps and a 1933 Remington model 12 .22.

The shotgun was in 3 pieces when I received it. Just need to make it whole so it can be displayed on a wall. I would not even use this to hit someone over the head. The barrel might crack or bend. :):):) kind of like the stuff produced in China today:):)

I have not been hunting in many, many years.

I used their product to apoxy 318 engine mounts to wood stringers on an antique boat I restored and it will never come apart in my opinion. (metal to wood)
They have worked with me on several projects and know their stuff.
