LSx Cobra Is Now Legal
Welp LSxCobra is now legal and insured. Went thru the DMV process over the holiday weekend. Wasn't to bad. The car is now titled as a 1965 SPCON. Tags were a little over $95 bucks for 2 years. Plate choices are:
LSXCBRA or LSX FFR depending on whichever they "approve" :) Took the father-in-law for a ride and he was grinning ear to ear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhFNMjeIX_E Tails |
Atta Boy! Another Cobra with a "Good" power supply. Does Mikiec have your e-mail on his distribution list for club activities? You should get involved with the group so there will be another victim for them to pick on, besides me, Jeff, and Eric over our Chevy power.

Congratulations Daniel. You have many years of enjoyment ahead of you. So, Tucson has another cobra, see if you can keep up with the Ford powered boys. Straighten your steering wheel first, or is that a Chebby thing?

Daniel,
Congrats! Good to have another Chevy powered Cobra around. Karl, Jeff and I can't take all the attention ourselves... Don't let the Ford boys intimidate ya; I've only seen 3 Cobras run in the 10s in AZ since 2003, and two of those were Chevy powered. That LSx should run like the devil. Is it a real LSx block? How big is it? Who built it and what are the details? Do you have a tune for the ECU or does it need dyno time? Very cool! |
Great to see another Toy on the road and the chebbie power should serve you well. Also guessing you clocked the s-wheel to give better visibility to the speedo and tach. Anyway enjoy your car and welcome to the insanity.

Thanks guys. Dunno if Mikiec has my email address or not. I'll shoot him a PM with it. :)
Jeff got it right on the wheel. Clocked it that way so I could see the gauges when I glance at them. Rest of the time I'm listening. It's actually just a GMPP LS1 block. I call it LSx not to throw anyone off. However knowing myself and my past history with Fbodies, Vettes, and GTO's that I've owned I'm always doing something under the hood. So this year LS1, next year LS2, 3, dunno. It all depends. Right now it feels like the last biggest hurdle has been overcome. Still need to work on getting the interior finished. Paint is in the works for next summer. Right now I just want to enjoy the fruits of my long 2+ year labor and enjoy driving a car I've wanted since my dad sat me in one when I was 6.. :) Oh and yes already got the tuning and dyno taken care of. I do most of it myself, however I got a guy that helps me out when I get stumped now and then. Tails |
There is a run this weekend.... join us.

He's from Apache Junction not Tucson. Congrats on finally getting it on the road. |

Tails,
What did you do about headers? -Greg |
Daniel,
Added. Mike |
Thanks again guys.
Mike I'm not going to be able to make it this weekend. I know I know excuses.. :) Found out my sig other "volunteered" me to fix her grandfathers computer problems so there ain't no telling how long I will be over doing that. So I can't commit to something when I won't be able to make it 100%. Greg I ended up using a set of headers from a Silverado SS then had to modify the j-pipes from FFR. Setup works for now. However I will be learning how to make my own headers for a future upgrade.. :) Tails |
