I was at Barrett Jackson's when they displayed the 427Hemi headed sbf engine. Very impressive looking engine.(Shelby aluminum block 351W stroked to 427ci and Hemi heads which are not by Ford or Shelby, another strike) I was considering purchasing one and even had my CSX car taken to Tom's to be 1 of the first to have this engine. However the first engine wasn't ready when they thought it would be and I woke up to the fact that I purchased a 4000 series CSX car which deserves a FE engine in my opinion. By the way the engine does look very short in person and the foot boxes will have to be modified for installtion. With the sheet metal intake(which was not correct and had 3 intake gaskets just to make up the difference of poor fabrication) it will not fit under the hood...however the TMW stack injection will. Now it's my understanding that they will be entering the engine in the engine masters competition. I think that this engine will have great potential in any car other than a CSX. Once agian guys just my opinion.

After looking at the pics of the heads and then at the valve cover pic at the GT40 site I have to say they just shrunk a Boss 429.
What's the point ,a Boss will fit,why go small block.
I know you're thinking,(he doesn't own a Cobra).
But if I did and could afford it an aluminum block Boss 429 would be at the top of my list.

It was developed in conjunction with DenBesteMotorsports and Speedway Classic Cars (formerly Toms Motorsports). Attached is a pic of the dyno sheet. 750hp at 7100 rpm on pump gas. Tom's number is 702 651 0708

Dopnt ever think if you buy a CSX S000 or 6000 series car that shelby thinks these things through before they will sell you anything. They could wait to sell the roush 511 yet neither shelby nor the dealer had bothered to measure to see if the 511 and 8 stack would fit under the hood and have room for an air cleaner. They didn't hesitate to stamp their name on the motor and sell it for 40K but didn't care about it fitting. I had to find my own solution and pay another 1600 out of my popcket to have something custom made to protect my engine

This looks like it has to be a re-creation of the famous old SOHC motor of the sixties. It looks like most of the parts are available on line with a build cost of about $25k or so but they don't say Shelby. Search SOHC Ford engines.

Whether it is worth the money, I guess its how much do you want to spend for the "wow" factor.
