Mikiec- re. AZ Cobra hoodie.

Hi Mike, If you will be going to the run tomorrow, Sat, 1-29-11. Could you throw my sweatshirt in your car? I'll make it up there to get it if you'll be there.

mikiec 01-28-2011 03:21 PM

Not a problem John.

Paul Gillespie 01-28-2011 07:35 PM

I thought you said you gave that thing to Goodwill. :D

Karl Bebout 01-29-2011 09:11 AM

Goodwill wouldn't want it, if they found out who had been wearing it. 'Way too many miles on it from Mr. Ironbutt. Probably had cleckos.

Cleckos are sorta like long pop rivets, that are removable. They are used to hold parts together until you weld or permanently bond them together. Tucson John liked the looks or them so well on his hood scoop that he drove the car around quite a while before finishing the scoop. (not sure I spelled "cleckos" corrrrectly)

tin-man 01-29-2011 10:20 PM

Thanks for the clarification......

here is the suppliers description: slightly modified for effect:CRY:

Clecos are plier operated, spring loaded fasteners. These temporary fasteners, originally designed for the "Aerospace" industry, are the way to go. Clecos temporarily hold the object in place until it is ready to be fastened permanently.

Boy, I wish I had know about these thingies a while back, I knew several ladies that I could have use them on to shut em' up. So next time the wifey is giving you a hard time or engaging you in a vitriolic diatribe perhaps you may want to explain how the Cleco works. That is assumng y'all have the stones to do that.:LOL::LOL: John, AKA, tin-man

Hummmmm, "Aerospace", I like that. I must admit that those clecos on my hood scoop were actually a test program for NASA. The study was about the movement of air around fixed objects ( clecos) VS the straight line air movement over the scoop. I am sure that you all have seen the "fences" on an airliners wing, those are the small 1 1/2"x 1 1/2" aluminum pieces on the top of the wings. They direct the air flow over the wing. Well, the clecos were installed to study the effect of the air over the scoop and unto the windshield. We had hoped that they would redirect the flow of air and thus reduce the amount of bugs that hit the windshield.

It would depend on if the clecos were vertical or horizontal, here in China they are horizontal and decidedly do deflect inbound objects.:LOL: John, AKA, tin-man
