Cobra Insurance

I'm new here, just bought a ERA 289 FIA and am trying to find insurance for the car. Just wondering what all of you do for insurance, any recomendations or experience good or bad would be appreciated. The quotes I've been given so far seem to be a little high compared to the threads I've read here. Hope to get registered and on the road soon. Thanks for the help.

I'm with State Farm. it's inexpensive and well constructed. No limit on miles..100K coverage for less than $350/year.

Karl Bebout 06-13-2011 01:23 PM

Danr, 100K? Bet you pray every night for someone to steal your car. HA.

Keith, I'm with American Hobbyist and they've been great. Reasonably priced, based on agreed to value. They dealt with me promptly and professionally when I wrecked my car. Look them up on line. There are also tons of threads on CC about insurance.

Dan,

Maybe I should call your State Farm agent. I have all my insurance with them and can not get them to write any on the Cobra for more than 2000 miles. Wonder what gives?

I have State Farm. No agreed value, less than 7500 miles is $650 for 6months. No driving restrictions. I'm looking around.

I have used Voyager, on both my Cobras and my T-bird. Good rates, quick roadside response:rolleyes:. I dont have their contact information with me, I'm sure they are listed.
Good Luck,
Steve

Thanks for the information everyone, you have given me some more companies to look into. I've tried the usual companies but so far am not favorably impressed. I'll try the ones you have suggested, I'm sure I'll find something, hopefully sooner than later. Hope to meet some of you one of these days.

I'm using NorthEast Classics.

Now get that thing insured and join us.

My brother and I use Midwest Classic Insurance. Call Robin Terry 888-271-4000, he knows cars.

X2 for Robbin. I dropped American Hobbyist a few years back as they have stricter coverage limitations that didn't really fit the way I drove. With Robbin at Midwest classic, they even offer a 'drive to work option'.
Send me a PM if you want any more details.

Will

American Modern Select. $200 year, stated value and 6,000 miles.

Cobrakeith 06-14-2011 11:23 AM

Thanks to everyone who responded, I went with Robbin Terry at Midwest Classic Insurance. They had a procuct that suited me and Robbin made the process easy.

I don't need that as I never lift for yellow flags.

It has been a good company for Karl and I for sure..

Maybe I will see you at the Pavillions around sunset this week...

I just got a quote from a local agent for $650 annually for $57000 agreed value, no driving restrictions, under 5000 miles. That is with insuring 2 other regular vehicles with them as well. Company is supposed to be Safeco.
