Danr:
"What ever the color, at least it runs.... long, strong and continuous.. (shot back!)"

WHAT??? HOW many times has the car been out of commission due to one of its MANY ailments? Broke this, broke that, this doesn't work, that doesn't work, neeed better this , need better that.

Yes, yes, yes. Mine has been laying dead for over two years but that's not the fault of the car. Rather some operator error of taking it four-wheeling, breaking the snot out of the body, going with a real schmuck of a body replacement to the point of spending almost 6 months in a body shop, to make it right (as well as a goodly chunk of change) and then, and then, being re-engineered and fabricated my me and my freinds, that are getting a lot of OJT on how to put things together. Its all about ME. I screwed up, I don't know how to do stuff, but its coming along and will be ever so much better than the original car, that I've owned 18 years now.

Dan, was that a shot, seems like a shot?

Mikiec, now really that's sorta low considering Karl did his very best not to damage his car when he ploughed into the trees and bushes and is doing whatever he can to resuscitate his car to its former glory, albeit with a little help from his friends. Do you really think Karl would do that again after spending so much time and energy to get his beast back onto the road?

Dan,

I will be out of town too, returning on Tuesday. I'm helping to drive a Corvette back from a Colorado plastic car rally. (800 Corvettes in attendance). Sorry, I know this is like sleeping with the enemy. But, new C6 Corvette convertible, mountain roads, junk food, and loud tunes. Does it get any better? Yep, doing it in a Cobra. Anyway, I'll call you after I get back.

John-Tucson,

Thanks for the offer of help. I just may take you up on your offer. I am not 100% sure of what I want yet, but I'm working on it. I loved my Backdraft, but want something different this time. Why do you suppose there are so many cars for sale in Tucson?

Skip

mikiec 08-06-2011 10:54 AM

Tinny.. With reguards to Karl going off road again......

YUP.

John-Tucson 08-06-2011 11:40 AM

All of the usual reasons; lost interest, lost job, lost wife, wasn't what they really thought that it was, etc. There are FFR's, Superformance, etc. for sale down here. And all colors from deep green to silver.

SkipB 08-06-2011 12:35 PM

Mickmate,

So, I should be talking to you about Contemporary cars? I wonder what Dan thinks abou this?

Skip, there isn't much that Nick doesn't know about Contemporarys but if you want to see, he's in Vermont and I'm across the valley. Talk to him. He won't lead you astray.__@
