Are the cobra's coming to Heber/Overgaard for the 4th of July?:

No Clif. Not this year. Last year was such a bust with no fireworks. And, this year I understand Mr Pink will not be available to host Friday night. Also the Motel expense has put us all off for a long time. $100+ per night. We have cancelled the entire trip. The motel has been advised and Ginny has released our reservations.

You'd think the motel owner would get the idea that when the price goes up occupancy goes down. It's called supply and demand. Guess he thinks the 4th will draw a lot of out of town visitors. Not this year.

Mike, He's had every room reserved for several years in a row. We just took up space first.

It helps when you are the only place in town.
Ginny was contacted by the Chamber of Commerce asking that we come up again this year. Just to costly right now.
Maybe next year.

Nope. We will be getting ready to leave on our MH trip. That weekend will be worth almost one tank of fuel.

I thought about it earlier. At issue is the Parade will be over about noonish, get back into the valley 2:30ish = HOT.

Like all these things - they get boring because you can't do burn outs? It was fun the first year but hot! Next thing we will be forced to do is get ride of side pipes and loud cars(become vetts and porchiees):LOL:
No fire works:confused:

I have had a great time every year. The folks who live in the area have been great and take our invasion in stride. I am sure the local Biz owners look forward to the economic boost from the crowds. The week end is one I look forward too but getting my tighter scrutiny shows the bang for the buck is down a bit. What hasn't..... but it's become far more expensive over the past few years. The towns folk, cool weather, activities and a general good time are all part of the rewards. The fireworks are top notch !
On the flip side most dinner outings will add our group of 10 or 20 folks to an already busy restaurant so ya get what ya get but at fine dining prices. My $100+ a night hotel room is no better than $39.99 any other place or time. The price of gas is whatever but it takes a tank and a half there and again to get home. Having this much fun is not possible sitting on your couch though.
