mikiec 10-07-2012 09:36 AM

Don,
Just a reminder that you have not registered for Laughlin yet. If you want a shirt, need to know asap, the order went in this morning.

mikiec 10-07-2012 09:46 AM

Hey guys and gals,
Kit Cars on the Colorado in Laughlin is only 12 days away. Interest this year is really at an all time low. If you plan on going, PLEASE send in your registration forms by the end of this week, shirt orders have gone in and a final count will be confirmed on Wednesday, Oct. 10th.
If you are planning to attend and plan to register at Laughlin, can you post here or send Ginny an email (ginnyc66@cox.net) so that we can figure how much $$ will be in our budget.

This is a really fun week-end trip and hope to see lots of Cobras shining in the Nev sun.

Robert McLinden 10-07-2012 10:10 AM

Mike,

It's looking like I will not make it this year. Both car issues (which we are working as I type) and medical issues. Not cleared for solo just yet. You guys have fun.

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 10-07-2012 10:15 AM

Looks like another fun weekend of eatin & drinkin. This is a great trip except for the DPS on I-70 part. OK Dave & Dennis, I'll keep it under 85 there. Scotch and cigars with Scotty & Dan, picking on Jim, Bill G's endless supply of Coors Light. Sleep in, gambling, shopping, movies. What's not to like?
Can't wait. See you all in Wickenburg at the new McDonalds.
AZ Bob

Bob M.

That sucks.

Email me with regards to your registration order and T-shirt. The checks will be deposited tomorrow (Monday).

Mike

Danr55 10-07-2012 04:02 PM

Grumpy, Sorry to hear you won't be going. We'll miss your smiling face.

Robert McLinden 10-07-2012 06:29 PM

Dan,

I could always send you a picture.

Car Nut 10-08-2012 10:28 AM

Looks like Joanne and I will tagging along this year. Room reservation is made.

I suppose I will have to park over by the dumpster with Jim since I don't have a kit car, but I will driving the 66. It is a Ford and has a fiberglass hood.

Danr55 10-08-2012 05:49 PM

Car Nut, don't feel bad about your small block. There are lots of other things that serve as compensation.....like the beautiful paint job and the great seat covers. Nice wheels also. You're welcome.

Oh and Bob, save the picture.. We'll make do, but thank you for the offer.

It's all about volumetric efficiency Dan. :D

Danr55 10-09-2012 01:28 PM

Wait, I'll get a dictionary. Volumetric Efficiency: as applies to internal combustion engines: the ration of horse power or torque to the displacement of the combustion engine. Let's see? the volumetric efficiency or 1.5:1 for a 302 would equal 451 horse power. Volumetric efficiency of 1.2:1 for a 428 = 514. When weight is factored in, 451/275lbs= 1.64. 514/475= 1.09

1.09 x 514= 561 451 x 1.64= 740.

It appears that you are correct.

You made a couple mistakes, I have a 347. You have a truck 390. No math necessary.
