Jack was one funny guy. I remember once in Laughlin when he and Hershel started throwing jokes back and forth with me listening in. Sooooo funny! Jack could remember jokes forever.

Jack's passing reminds of a story another departed friend (Dave Barker) used to tell about Jack. Dave and Jack attended high school together at the old Phoenix Union High School.
During summer vacation, Jack lost his leg in a motorbike accident and returned to school with a artifical leg. I guess Jack kept it quiet about his accident. Anyways, Jack and Dave had autoshop together. Jack would bet people he could jam an awl into his leg without hollering. It turns out Dave bet him 5 bucks he couldn't do it. Dave lost his money, thought Jack was nuts and went on with life. A number of years went by and Jack and Dave ran into each other at the 5andDiner with some of the Cobra group and realized they knew each other. The discussion of the bet so many years ago came up. Jack showed him his artifical leg and had a big laugh, Dave whined and asked for money back. Of course, Jack refused. What a hoot, I will always think of that story when I think of Jack. RIP |
Rest in peace Jack. My prayers go to your family.
