I guess that if I was the "landlord" I'd rather have the land just sit and grow weeds rather than to work with the tennant to help them be able to stay in business. Grrrr!

The was a story of a Dragster at Beeline that had a failure with it's parachute, and it stopped only after jumping the canal and smashing into the bank on the other side. We use to ride our dirt bikes out there in 1969. I'm not sure if the story was made up. We bullchitted a lot at that age, some still do. **)

It closed in 1975. I remember going there to watch the races. I even took my old 69 RR down the strip a few times.
Firebird opened about 1985 and is now subject to closure. Speedway was closed by Maricopa county a couple of weeks ago.
That leaves Tucson.

OMG, does that bring back memories. I actually won my class in 1966 at the Winter Nationals there. Still have the trophy to prove it. Damn I'm getting old. Time flies when you're having fun.

I still remember going to Beeline a few times. Never ran any of my cars that are not worth mentioning. Going to school on G I bill. The trap and skeet range was closed also for reasons of insanity I believe. Almost next door to old drag strip. Pima road had its issues also as I recall. Not pointing fingers, BUT, seems to be a trend a long time coming. Gary

The track at around Luke Air Force was nice ? It was 2+ mile track right? My car got asked to leave track as it was too loud! Give me a break. All these neighbors need to buy a vibrator to ease their issues. All these people that know what is best for all of us:rolleyes: America America....land of taxes, regulations...
