coming out 24 June, cant wait to meet you all.

Danr55 06-14-2013 05:23 PM

I would hold on that until after you've met some of us. Some are more uh.. normal than others.. and some are color blind. Welcome to AZ anyway.

Do you have any track experience or want to do any racing? A couple of us from Tucson do some racing at Inde Motorsports Ranch near Wilcox. Not too far of a drive for you.

I made quite a few trips to Fort Hoochie Coochie in the 70's with Digital Equipment Corp. Back then I thought there were lots worse places to be. Sierra Vista was a friendly town for visitors. Went to a locals pub and felt welcome.

Yep, it's the southwestern desert so it will be hot.

I like that area and if I win powerball will have a house in Bisbee in the winter and Silverton or Ouray, CO in the summer. Both are little mining towns with their homes built on slopes that look like the victorians of San Francisco.

On the subject of your original suggestion of a bunch of Cobra's coming on base, I am not sure they would let some of them off the base! Uncle Sam may be looking for some of them still after all these years:)

Karl Bebout 06-16-2013 08:50 PM

4910, "Uncle Sam may be looking for some of them still after all these years" Not to worry, Ralphie's out of the area, Danr changed his name, and Mikiec is unrecognizable.

ALWAYS OUT FRONT – MOTTO OF ARMY MI
Just like our COBRAS, we MI guys are always out front. I live in CA but spent some time at Ft. Huachuca – great place and the local area folks are cool even with the hot weather. There is a bunch of military retirees in Sierra Vista - so they will make you feel at home. Just watch out for the summer thunder storms – lots of lightening and don’t take a COBRA across the Southern border – it might not make it back. Hook up with the AZ COBRA folks – they can really be a lot of help. Enjoy your tour and keep motoring –
