Maybe not yet but he will have by September.

He's driving his 1975 Hundai Pony.
AZ Bob |
Fitz, Thought I'd ride with you. No?
|
Karl, you are always welcome to ride with me provided you don't whine about my motor.
AZ Bob |
OK guys, here's the plan. We'll leave from Idaho and US60 on Saturday morning at 9:00 That's leave at 9:00. We'll meet anyone from Tucson who is going at Apache Gold Casino about 10:15 and leave Apache Gold at 10:45. That will afford plenty of time for fueling or lowering manifold pressure or shopping or whatever. That should put us at Hannigan Meadow about 1:00 for lunch. From there it's on to Springerville. I will call the Lodge and give them a heads up on how many are coming so they can have a cook and waitress ready for us this time. See everyone on 9/21.
|
Dan....I think 10:45 departure might not get you to Hannigan Meadow by 1:00. According to the Hannigan Meadow's website it's 6 hours from PHX. Take two hours off that and you have 4 hours to the Meadow from the casino. Stops for gas along the way might get you there by 2:30-3:00. We are leaving much earlier. See you there.
|
Yup, i'm afraid Mike is right there. About 5 hours from the Casino to the Lodge. 200 miles of twisty turns. Well, maybe 4 hours if Dan is leading.
AZ Bob |
Bob, Remember the last trip there? We left Superior about 9:00 and got to Hannigan Meadow about 1:30 with a stop in Morenci. Well, maybe we won't get there until 2:00 but that's OK.. It's about the ride with friends. Not about the getting there.. Well, sometimes.. anyway.
Mike, Check the distance from Globe to Hannigan Meadow thru Morenci. You'll find it's considerably shorter than 6 hours. With Apache Gold being even further east... then, do the math. |
Sounds like a race to me :p
|
I'll be leaving with da pack, from Idaho, U da ho, at 9 or whenever they get movin. I'll probably be bringing up the rear, once we hit the twisty-curvies, since my tires/chassis are much more for straight line powering.
|
Everyone, we'll go slow just for Karl... NOT!
|
Dan is allowing me to stay at his house Friday night to save me an extra 50+ miles that morning. We will be bringing our hangovers Saturday morning.
I think I'm sleeping in the garage, on the floor. AZ Bob |
Under the freezer.. you forgot about "under the freezer" ..
|
I hope the garage is sound proofed. **)**)
|
No worries Scotty. I've given up snoring unless Scotty is around. By the way, I've reserved the room next to yours in Springerville.
AZ Bob |
I loaded that room with noise activated explosives. A very high level of noise, not usually created by a normal human being, is needed to set it off. They'll probably engage as soon as your head hits the pillow.:eek::LOL:
|
Dan...here's my route. Mesa to Globe 72 miles, Globe to Safford 73 miles. Safford to Morenci 47 miles, Morenci to Hannigan Meadows 68 miles. That's about 260 miles driving north along the "trail". Have a good trip.

Mike - Aren't you going? Following the same route? |
Dale...yep, I following the same route I posted. Except, I am not going to leave as late as the rest of the group, 9am. I live in Mesa and I see you are in Gilbert. What time are you leaving? I see we are the only people staying at the Meadow. We'll plan to see you there.
