Looking for Green Lonestar Brian

Brian, please let me know where you got your wind wings/visors made. I've not had any luck finding someone locally.

BTW, taking your Camaro out to the Bondurant thingy this weekend?

mikiec 10-07-2013 06:14 PM

Not sure where Brian had his made, but Jeff Classic makes them.

Karl,
I have an extra set I'll sell. ( side wind wings ) It's going to be missing some of the hardware though, 2 screws came out on the Coronado trail run, and I had to hold it from flapping all the
way back from Payson. Ace probably has the screws.

Scotty's go some screws loose? Explains a lot.

Thanks guys. I'm wanting to find some copper colored (or close) plexiglass for the wings and visors. I'll give Jeff a call if I can't find someone on this end of the world.

Karl Bebout 10-09-2013 07:12 AM

Gonna do it myself...me and Mesa Dave, that is. He has a band saw and I found what I'm hoping is the perfect color, on line. Got to remembering 7th grade shop class where I made a table lamp out of plastic and we used just wood working tools. At least the sheet of plexiglass I ordered, 2'x4', will give us enough to try re-do's if necessary. If it doesn't work out, it won't be the first $100 I've wasted, or undoubtedly the last.

Scotchman 10-09-2013 07:35 AM

Karl,
Make them really big, so we can see you coming ! :)

Karl Bebout 10-09-2013 09:33 AM

Most people hear me coming before they see me.

Danr55 10-09-2013 12:17 PM

Don't forget to use jewelers rouge around the edge to.male them really smooth. Be sure to put a small radius on the edges all the way around to keep them from delaminating.

Scotchman 10-10-2013 07:51 AM

We forgot what you sound like

No pressure.

Danr, thanks for the tips. I'd planned on rounding the edges with sand paper and then polishing them on a buffing wheel. I'll get some rouge as you suggested.

Scottie, you should have been at the pizza thing last Saturday for a memory refresher. You, Danr, Will, and Mesa Mike coulda stoked up some ceegars

""Most people hear me coming before they see me.""

It must be the beans!

Danr55 10-11-2013 05:29 AM

Beans? Is that what chevy's run on? I wondered what caused that popping sound.
