Shipping stuff
I stumbled upon a shipping method that I had not thought of before. I was in Jacksonville FL for Christmas and received a large Cobra neon sign that I needed to ship back to AZ. It was 33x32x14 and weighed only 18# but I found that truck freight was $226, UPS was $112 and USPS about $96. The lady that gave me the truck freight quote recommended that I check with Greyhound. I did and shipped the package, with $300 coverage, for $45. This is NOT door to door, but terminal to terminal, but considering the difference in cost, certainly well worth the savings. Greyhound does have a 100# maximum, to bear in mind, but interestingly enough, I saw a shrink wrapped desk chair being shipped so it would seem that their size/shape restrictions may be pretty light. Might keep this in mind if the need to ship something that would fit in the criteria.
