New to Cobras

Hello everyone
My wife and I are planning to start a build during the first half of the year.
We were wondering if there would be some folks that wouldn't mind showing us there cars. We would like to see a few different manufacturers cars. (We looked at a ffr on Sunday but quality was???)
Right now we are looking at pacific cobra, era, west coast, A&CA and factory five.
I'm almost 6' so that is a concern.
We live in El Mirage Az 479-270-4991 Charles

Chaz, Stop by Westgate Plaza tomorrow afternoon or evening and you will see several of the cars. There is a big show tomorrow and Cobras are the showpiece. Otherwise, join us at our anniversary party on Dec. 6 and you will see most all of the cars.. Newbies are always welcome..

Chaz255 11-18-2014 10:42 AM

We will be there. Driving the c3 corvette. My wife works there. Lol

Danr55 11-18-2014 12:54 PM

Oh goody.. He has a Chevette! Ha HA HA!

Bernica 11-18-2014 12:59 PM

Another convert. Sounds like he's coming around!!;)

Karl Bebout 11-18-2014 01:25 PM

Chaz, quick, get the anti-venom before the poison sets in and you set fire to your 'vette, or, insure the hell out of it.

Welcome Chaz
I have a West Coast, an older build(1988). Rumor has it the company is changing hands(a good Thing). Not sure what the status is, but your welcome to see, and drive mine, if that helps. I will be in Arizona Dec. 3rd thru the 12th.
Bob

Oh Chaz, In case no one has mentioned it, nothing around here is sacred... expecially if it has a bow tie.. Isn't that right Karl..??

FYI, I think that build quality on a non-manufactured car has more to do with the builder than the manufacturer.
I built my FFR and think the kit is VERY good and can be an excellent car, it all depends on how much time, money, and patience you are willing to invest. There are better kits, but I think the FFR is the best Value (but I'm biased :D)

Good luck with whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Chaz255 11-18-2014 05:39 PM

Lol. The vette runs 11s. We are giving it to our little boy when he graduates.

Scotchman 11-18-2014 05:43 PM

Chaz,
Go all new with your build, locktite every nut and bolt, and silicone every rivet. It's worth the time believe me. I'm very happy with my FFR.

mikiec 11-18-2014 05:50 PM

11's that's all. go to the back of the line.

Go to the anniversary / Christmas party.

Mike

Chaz255 11-18-2014 05:53 PM

Lol 4k lbs 11s isn't bad

Karl Bebout 11-18-2014 06:34 PM

Chaz, All these FoMoCo guys just aren't used to just how much power a Chevy makes. I knew one Roush storker 427, that ran quicker than I did with my old car, but that was the only one around here, not Chevy powered, that would give me a run for the money. No doubt that there are others, especially those uber high-dollar Roush 511s, that made more power than I did, but they never got out on the strip, that I know of.

And...the older I get, the faster I was...

Definitely give Peter a call at ERA. I own one of their cobra's and a GT40
Their quality along with their stellar reputation and support is second to none.

Damn! I had to build my own 11 sec car when I graduated. And yes, it was a Ford and ate dem Camaros, GTO's, 'Cudas and Novas for lunch.
You will find that this can be a tough crowd when you throw in that "Chebby Factor"!
