It's any wonder the engine builder has gone out of business.
What person in their right mind would assemble a roller lifter engine with a faulty tie assembly, be it a dogbone or strap etc? How could he sleep at night? I class the lobe as the worst I've seen, and I've seen many roller lifter/cam lobe failures. The microscopic metal will be trapped by the oil filter, but the oil pump will be worn as a result. |
Perhaps the excessive lash you had while the rocker arm was eating itself prior to this mishap, beat up the roller bearing on the lifter. The complete failure of the lifter just showed later. That might also be the cause of the bone breaking, the lifter being slammed up and down with the bad rocker arm.
Regardless, that sucks. That sh#t happens to Chebbie motors too. |
