Bend Pak Lift

I bought a bend Pak lift for my garage but it arrived with the install company with deep people scratches and scrapes on it. Has anyone had experience in service after the sale? I know they shipped it via flat bed but I would think with that big of a manufacturer it wouldn't show up looking used.

Curious if anyone had similar experiences or if they helped to make it right afterward?
Thanks
Ron

Ron,
What are "people scratches"?

Don't put it together. I assume the four posts have gouges. Ask whomever you purchased it from to bring you four more. The way the safety bars are adjustable you will have no problem exchanging posts. Should have come wrapped in heavy card board.

It is very difficult to move those lifts. It goes from the manufacturer to a distributor. The distributor likely banged it up.

I have a Challenger lift. They brought in a flat bed tow truck and "dumped" it very carefully driving away as it dragged out. It did not get damaged. If you are using it for storage I guess you want it to look good but I would limit how upset I got.

It is a tool. Do the scrapes effect its ability to perform its intended job? If you use it to work on the car it will get wear and tear over time.

Sorry for your trouble, you will like the lift mine is awesome. I could not imagine owning the car without it. It would make it "less fun" to work on for sure. Mine is a drive on, I got the rolling jack so you can raise the car and lift the wheels off the lift for service. During the winter I park under the car with my daily driver.

Good luck!

I can understand both Ron and Bill's views. Ron paid a goodly buck for the new lift and should have received a product in excellent condition. As Bill said, its a tool and some signs of wear will happen, although, after eight years of use, my lift columns look like new. Hope Ron took lots of pictures upon arrival, before unpacking to back up his claim. I'd think, at the very least, a good repaint is in order, if there are no structural issues involved. (I'd bet the damage is due to transportation and that the vendor would never have let anything less than perfect out their door) I'm one of those people that expects to get what I pay for, and that has caused me some heartburn over my decades.

I bought a Bend Pak 6000 lb scissors lift last February. The local dealer delivered the lift and set it up. Filled it with oil and test ran the lift before he left. The lift has zero scratches and works flawlessly. I would call the owner of the dealership where you purchased the unit and air your concerns. If you get no satisfaction there call Bend Pak customer service.

Not sure how auto correct went from gouges to people. I got a call from Bendpak today and they are shipping touch up paint and new aluminum diamond plate sections to replace those that are gouged and scratched(inserts between the rails). It wasn't about whether it will get scratched and used, it is the principle of expecting a certain quality of fit and finish of what I purchased.
