This whole area would make a bunch of great cruises based in Flagstaff, Payson or Prescott.

Then another drive up Oak Creek Canyon: Coconino National Forest - Home Then enjoy dinner and overnight in Williams, AZ. Just touristy stuff on the south rim. Great whole day and back to Williams. A two or three day trip to the North Rim would be great in High Summer except for the driving across the desert part. If we run to Flagstaff in the evening and spend the night then leave early the next morning for Jacob's Lake that would be a good trip. We would have to do the reverse, returning to the valley. My car does not like the freeway in the low country when it's over 105 degrees.

Nice job on the options. A long day trip that I think would be good for all siders, and put some mileage on our cars, would be to go up to Payson, then north and west to Camp Verde for lunch at the Casino. Then south and west to Prescott, for 1 soda pop at Whiskey Row, then south back home, down through Yarnell. Or do it the other way around. ;) |
