Hi All. Haven't been around in a while, having a few issues that I have been dealing with. One being the car. Fuel Injection, not going well, having Bob Reem take it out next week and going back to carb. But I am looking for a coolant filler tank, will try and post a photo. Anyone have an extra that they are willing to part with at a decent price? Does not need to be chrome. Took a picture of this one at a car show last week. Thanks in advance.
Joe

I have a few. Which engine and what direction do you need the inlet outlet?

Karl Bebout 04-18-2016 09:06 AM

Danr55 did have one/some locally. Drop him a PM.

Welcome back Joe.
Those tanks suck, all they do is leak coolant.

It is a small block 427, and would need the outlet back to the radiator on the passenger side.

Thanks Dan. Need to get rid of the Mickey Mouse set up that I have. Hard to describe here in words, but there are so many sharp constricted bends in the upper radiator hose between the t'stat housing and the inlet on the radiator that is a problem just waiting to happen.

There are a few used and new ones on e-bay right now. Type in "ford fe expansion tanks".

Danr55 04-18-2016 10:19 AM

Danr still has some. Give me.a.call one evening and we can discuss.

This is the one you want for a small block based engine. Doesn't leak and well engineered either. Call Kirkham.

Here's an original one. Rumor has it the thing can be bought on the cheap.

LMH 04-18-2016 11:28 PM

A little RTV will seal that right up!

RTV AND Duct Tape, just to be on the safe side.

Original post mentioned "reasonably priced" or something. What does a Kirkham expansion tank run nowadays?

$500 is regular price but he gave me a Club Cobra discount so it was $400.00 for me.

Danr55 04-19-2016 12:45 PM

I've.got.two original tanks for less the $150.00

Bernica 04-19-2016 12:50 PM

Just another option, but I bought a polished stainless one from Hillbank several years ago. Has traditional look, but in stainless. I think it was also in the $500 range....
