seats
I tried to post this yesterday but probably screwed something up because it never showed up, does anyone have any experience with using or ever see anyone with utv side by side seats in their cobra, my seats are too wide and way too high because the top of the windshield is about chin height when i drive it, i want to put a lower seat in it and started looking at the racing seats but then noticed they look almost the same as the utv seats that are less than half the cost. not even sure if that will work but it seems it would fix the problem?? any ideas

I don't have an answer for the UTV seat question but I searched quite some time for seats and these came from Cipher auto. They worked perfect in my Street Beast. I'm 6' and sit below the top of the windshield with room to spare. Way more comfortable than the original Cobra buckets. $680 for the pair and free shipping on Ebay

On most, if not all kit Cobras, you can adjust your windshield angle.

The limiting factor on most seats in a Cobra will be the width. I know when I went looking I needed to find seats no more than 19" wide across the seat bottom & bolsters.
I believe automotive seats may be built to a higher standard than ATV / UTV seats. Certainly G-loading in most directions is likely to be higher than in a UTV.
What do the various laws & regulations say about seats in licensed motor vehicles? Is a safety inspection going to reject UTV seats and make you park it? Better to know going in than be surprised later.

Cycleguy, I don't think 3665 has anything to worry about from the seat requirement. AZ doesn't require any yearly safety inspections and even the initial inspection for obtaining an AZ title is very cursory. (he's already gotten his AZ title, and really got hosed on that deal, but that's a different story)

I had a '66 Tiger with cheap seats. The rail on the LH side of the drivers seat broke and pushed through the upholstery. I drove around for a while with a suitcase behind the seat and a while more after I had it fixed....the first time. After weld repairing the seat rail four times, I finally broke down and spent money on a new seat. Unlike in baseball and football games, with fast cars the cheap seats are not acceptable. Spend a few extra bucks and get good ones..

I had 2 inches of padding removed from my HiTech seats. Now below the top of the windshield even using seat sliders.

Yes, SOME people don't need any more padding on their seats.

OH, I felt that shot. Glad you did not disappoint.

I think I am about ready for the butt part of the seat. My ass and lower back hurts so bad after driving for awhile I can hardly get out. Been over 6 weeks since I have been in the car. Put new batteries in the car and haven't been out since. Bummer....%/

Ive owned two higher end Polaris RZRs and both models had seats that sat nearly flush to the floor due to the brackets. I have a smaller frame and thought the seats in both fit me well. Im sure you would be able to fabricate them on to the floorpan some how. However, if I remember correctly, There wasnt alot of fore and aft adjustment on the sliders.
