POLL re AZ COBRAS Christmas/Anniversary Party TAKE 2

There have been lots of opinions about our upcoming Christmas/Anniversary Party so here's a poll to gather some sort of consensus.

I'll also ask Mr. Joe to send out an eMail with the information re where find the poll, for those that don't follow CC.

I screwed up the first poll, lemme see if I can't get it right

mikiec 07-23-2016 06:53 PM

You left out.. Leave it as it is.

Karl Bebout 07-23-2016 09:02 PM

The way the site's polls are set up, the only way to indicate a "nay" vote is to not click the item.

I couldn't find any way to delete the first poll or to even edit it. Argh! Undoubtedly, operator (me) error.

mikiec 07-24-2016 07:55 AM

Do you know how many looked but did not vote?

I vote with a nay. But I realize this is for the guys that still live in AZ. You guys do what you think is best.

We always do.... Well, we usually do... or sometimes we do what we think is best the other times we do what we think is fun..

mikiec 07-24-2016 01:43 PM

I know you do. I left this gang in good hands.

More the merrier. Tis the season everyone. I will do auto cross or road course.
Maybe we can get the Marines back. Gary

mikiec 07-24-2016 08:56 PM

The problem with the Marines in the later years is it was hard to get them to show due to the Reduction in our armed forces and more demand on their time.

It seems to me the original theme of this event was an anniversary party for Club Cobras to meet and enjoy each others company. A track event with other than our group, seems to be contrary to that. Perhaps that is what the majority wants and that is okay too.

Just saying, from a Mustang guy tag along's perspective.

Karl Bebout 07-25-2016 11:07 AM

Bruce, 'xactly why I tried to put out a poll.

Danr55 07-25-2016 01:48 PM

Does anyone else seem to think that perhaps we should determine if there is anyone (Bill or ??) paying money to support or arrange this party before we decide what type of participation we need? If some one is paying by the head for people showing up, perhaps we need to assess a fee for attendence. If the party is predicated on Bob's good nature, then perhaps we should check with him and find out at what point we become an imposition. Seems to me we need more information before we make any decisions about what and who and how many. What daya think?

Old Phart Bill. Do you have any input for these questions?

mikiec 07-25-2016 04:07 PM

Remember it was Bill that broached the subject of adding the Pantera club.

i remember that Mikie. I just don't want to leave anyone hanging out there financially for anything that is not of their doing. Bill didn't say anything originally about dollars, but I would like to make sure that there is no obligation on anyone's part before we make any arrangements.

Actually he did, he said he would cover it.
Never said what the cost is however.
I agree, everyone needs to pitch in, not just one person.

Mesa Mike 07-26-2016 09:23 AM

lI already posted my $0.02. No to Pantera, no to auto cross and no to track time.

Old Phart 07-26-2016 11:47 AM

Hi Az. Cobras friends,

My intent to invite other Ford related clubs was to get enough cars (a minimum of 30) to participate in the track event. I wanted to get some opinions
on this idea. I'm fine with things being the same.

So far, I have no money invested in the use of the museum this Dec. 3rd. Per John P. from the Bondurant School, "it's (the Az. Cobras date) in the books".
There is also no charge for the use of the museum, per previous arrangement with John. I wanted to encourage participants for the track event because of the graciousness of Bob and Pat allowing us to use the museum for our Christmas Party, at no charge.

Danr55 07-26-2016 01:00 PM

Bill, If you are OK with it, I don't have any objections.

Suggestion: How about we invite other Cobra Clubs and give them a month to respond with deposit for the AutoX or Track. Then we look at the numbers again and see how many we need to reach 30 for whichever? Maybe a posting on All Cobra Talk would get the word out??

Old Phart 07-26-2016 01:29 PM

Thank you, Dan.

Good suggestion on inviting other Cobra Clubs (and any "Independents")!

Old Phart 07-26-2016 02:26 PM

Quick update: To clarify the Autocross Track rental, the price per participant with a minimum of 30 cars, is $30. each. Without the minimum 30 participants required, the cost is $75. per car. These costs are necessary to cover the Bondurant staffing and instructors that will need to be on site.
